I am standing for the Citizens Party in Northern Victoria Region this election, bringing previous electoral experience and a lifelong commitment to protecting our farmers, producers and communities. Australia faces serious challenges, compounded by political corruption, economic mismanagement and decades of globalisation, deregulation and free-market policies. Fundamental banking and financial reform is urgently needed.

Aged 67, I have three adult children and ten grandchildren. I currently work as a truck driver and was previously a dairy farmer. Born in Katunga to original soldier-settler parents, I have served my community through local school, scouting and football organisations.

My political activism spans decades. I helped organise the 1992 “Save the Lucky Country” rally, coordinated the Murray Valley “Save Our Farms, Factories and Future” campaign, and served as Assistant Secretary and Treasurer of the Moira Branch of the Australian Reform Party. I first contested federal elections for the Citizens Party in 2007.

As a former dairy farmer, I have witnessed the damage caused by deregulation and water-market reforms. Rising costs for water, fertiliser, electricity, fuel and essential agricultural inputs threaten farm viability and national food security. I support parity pricing to ensure fair returns for producers, sustain domestic food production and strengthen our economy.

I also advocate comprehensive banking reform, stronger financial regulation and public-interest banking. Australians’ savings must be protected, not exposed to bank bail-ins. Australia must restore its capacity for national banking and public credit creation to finance productive investment and secure a better future for coming generations.

I firmly believe in the Australian Citizens Party’s longstanding principles and will continue fighting for the people of Nicholls, economic sovereignty and the national interest.

I draw inspiration from King O’Malley, who helped establish the Commonwealth Bank in 1911:

“The Australian is such a lovable fellow, the salt of the earth... But he’ll wake up good and proper some day. Then let the rest of the world look this way—there’ll be something to see!”

That vision of Australia’s potential continues to inspire me.
